Nosh
Our Brooklyn minyan
is always followed by a vegetarian potluck dinner.
Some might suggest we’re more focused on the
food than on the davening. During services our group
has kavanah, spiritual focus, equal to
that of the great Jewish sages and we take our time
harmonizing and dwelling on the Carlbach melodies…
But we might admit that our davening spirit is increased
by the knowledge that a tasty meal awaits, accompanied
by fresh, eggy challah (often hand-delivered from
Borough Park by Noa) and the Manichewitz wine of
our youth (plus adult wine for those with refined
palates).
